About

Laura Slaby is a Portland-based artist working in 2-D media. She has been compulsively documenting both her physical and imagined worlds for as long as she can remember. Her body of work consists primarily of drawings, paintings, and prints on paper using combined techniques in intaglio, relief, charcoal, ink, and watercolor. She uses the hand-drawn line as a means to study the patterns and forms that repeat throughout the natural world.

Laura’s printmaking work has been shown in the Atkinson Annex gallery in Santa Barbara, CA and her botanical illustrations were included in student exhibitions and publications by the College of Creative Studies at UC Santa Barbara.
